To better help you and your swimmer we have compiled a list of our most frequently asked questions. If you have a question we may have missed, please email us at lessons@southlakeaquatics.com.
Questions about location:
Where are South Lake Aquatics lessons held?
All our programs take place at the NTC Aquatic Center in Clermont, FL. This facility features one of Florida’s largest pools, a 70-meter by 25-yard Myrtha pool with a zero-depth entry. The pool is temperature-controlled year-round, staying between 80-82 degrees for optimal comfort.
Directions to the NTC pool?
Access the pool through the South Pool Gate at the NTC. Upon arrival, show your SLAC Lessons Pass to the on-duty lifeguard. Be sure to save the pass to your device for easy access.
For GPS directions, use 2150 Legends Way, Clermont, FL, which leads to the corner of Champions Way and Legends Way. Drive between the soccer fields, then turn left up the driveway to the pool parking lot. Overflow parking is available in the grassy areas along Champions Way.

Questions about weather:
What happens in bad weaTHER?
Lessons are on as scheduled unless you receive a cancellation notice via email or the SLAC App. We swim in rain showers and cool weather, but thunderstorms or severe weather may cause cancellations, decided on a class-by-class basis.
What if The gate is locked?
Lessons are always on as scheduled unless you receive notice of cancellation through email. Please check your emails if they gate if locked. If the gate is locked and the pool deck is clear, lifeguards may have temporarily closed the pool for safety during a thunderstorm. Instructors will return when lifeguards give the all-clear.
What if stormy weather disrupts my swimmer’s class?
Classes that run 20 minutes or more are considered complete. If a lesson is cut short, it will be available for a make-up session in the parent portal, expiring 30 days after the original class date.
General questions about lessons:
What does my swimmer need to bring for their lessons?
Swimmers need a comfortable swimsuit, goggles (not covering the nose), and a swim cap if their hair gets in their face. If you’re in need of equipment, we have recommendations in our SLAC SwimOutlet store.
What if my swimmer won’t be able to make one of our scheduled lessons?
In group lessons, absences require at least 48 hours’ notice. Requests can be made through the Parent Portal and take up to one business day for staff approval. Once approved, you can schedule a make-up class, which expires 30 days after the original class date.
For private lessons, cancellations require 48 hours’ written notice via email at privatelessons@southlakeaquatics.com or by texting your instructor.
What if my swimmer is ill or we have a family emergency?
If your swimmer is ill or there’s a family emergency, please provide notice within 24 hours of the lesson time. We will do our best to accommodate same-day notice. Email us at lessons@southlakeaquatics.com.
What if we wish to cancel our lessons?
Group lesson cancellations require written notice to lessons@southlakeaquatics.com by the 25th of the month to do so for the following month.
For Private Lessons, 48 hours written notice is required for a cancellation or schedule change to privatelessons@southlakeaquatics.com. Cancellation of private lessons with less than 48 hours notice will be subject to a $25 cancellation fee.
How can we permanently change our class day or time?
Permanent class transfers must be done manually by our staff. Please email us at lessons@southlakeaquatics.com with your swimmer’s name(s) and the class time(s) you would like to transfer to, and we’ll be happy to help, provided space is available.
